So this is the way to do this -

At the end of your nomal text, press enter key for a full return. Put your author text on this new paragraph. Then put your cursor at the beginning the author text, click RULE button. Put your cursor at the end of the author text and click RULE again.

THEN carefully highlight the the author text and click the Italic button. This will probably leave an extra paragraph at the end after the editor adjusts the tags. To remove it, do NOT use the backspace but rather click on the empty line and use delete key.

You will get clean code and format as below.
