PSCA Board Member Testifies Before Congress
Lew Minsky, Senior Attorney at Florida Power and Light Company and PSCA Board of Directors member, testified at the October 4th hearing of the House Committee on Education Labor to examine HR 3185, the 401(k) Fair Disclosure for Retirement Security Act of 2007. Lew spoke on behalf of PSCA, The ERISA Industry Committee, the Society for Human Resource Manage ment, the National Association of Manufacturers and the United States Chamber of Commerce. You may view the complete transcript of Lew’s testimony on PSCA’s Web site, www.psca.org. In his brief oral remarks, Lew stressed three points — that the vast majority of plan participants enjoy low fees; that Congress should wait for the Department of Labor to finish its regulatory overhaul of fee disclosures before considering legislation; and that HR 3185 “significantly over-reaches,” resulting in unnecessary complexity and compliance costs.

401(k) Day 2007 Was a Huge Success!
PSCA’s exciting 401(k) Day 2007 campaign produced big results! Because planning for retirement is not limited to just one day, PSCA has turned this year’s 401(k) Day into a year-round comprehensive campaign designed to promote ongoing awareness for 401(k) and retirement savings plans. “Make Everyday 401(k) Day” is a four-part, seasonally-themed campaign that provides tools for on-going communication with your employees and is a fun and easy way to engage your participants.

PSCA member Sun Life Retirement Services implemented a 401(k) Day campaign that reached 70,000 in more than 250 plans. Companies all across America are finding creative and exciting ways to get their employees talking about the benefits of employer-sponsored defined contribution programs.

Remember, it’s not too late to celebrate 401(k) Day at your own company if you haven’t yet. PSCA members can access the dynamic Winter Campaign and customize the materials for your employees. Show your employees how saving and investing in their own 401(k) plan can take the chill out of their retirement years. Some of the valuable tools available include: a participant article, posters and postcards, PSCA’s Annual Check-Up Tool, 401(k) Day participant Web casts, a Train-the-Trainer Web cast, and much more!

All these tools and more are available for download on PSCA’s exclusive 401(k) Day Web site, www.401kday.org. All 401(k) Day tools and materials are available in English and Spanish for PSCA members. All four seasonal campaigns are available for use by PSCA members. The Fall campaign is available free for everyone. 401(k) Day materials are also available for 457 plans. For more information about 401(k) Day, please contact PSCA at 312-419-1863 or visit www.401kday.org.
