PSCA SPONSORS NATIONAL 401(k) DAY

Employers and Workers Encouraged to Make Every Day 401(k) Day

CHICAGO -- BUSINESS WIRE (September 7, 2007) - The Profit Sharing/401k Council of America (PSCA), a national nonprofit association committed to retirement savings through employee-sponsored defined contribution programs, is sponsoring National 401(k) Day on September 7. Now in its 12th year, 401(k) Day is an annual celebration that encourages employers to set aside time at the workplace to spotlight the importance of their 401(k) plans.

“The 401(k) plan is in the spotlight like never before,” said David Wray, president of PSCA. “It is going to be a predominant source of income during retirement for most of today’s workers, and we should take today to recognize its importance and take action to save more for retirement.”

Celebrating its 60th anniversary, PSCA has created its largest library of free materials yet to support 401(k) Day and its first year-round campaign for members. Employers of any size and industry, whether PSCA members or not, can use the 401(k) Day materials to celebrate 401(k) plans on the day of their choosing. All of the materials are customizable, available in English and Spanish for both 401(k) and 457 plans, and include step-by-step instructions for employers. Items available include posters, payroll stuffers, letters, postcards and Web casts. New for 2007 are a number of interactive tools, including a calculator, video, quiz and retirement checkup worksheet.
