PSCA Begins a New Chapter

10/01/2012
By Bob Benish

Today marks the first day of David Wray’s retirement after 25 years serving as President of PSCA. Congratulations to David on a job well done and achieving a goal many of us strive for every day of our working life. David will be long remembered as a champion of the defined contribution system.

As I assume leadership as the Interim President and Executive Director of PSCA, I dedicate myself to this task with the same passion, energy, and commitment to protect the employer-sponsored retirement plan system. I promise to work 24-7 to provide plan sponsors with advocacy and help them implement the best practices in managing their defined contribution plan. I pledge to fight for the right of plan sponsors to self-determination and will work tirelessly to prevent government mandates in retirement plan design, programs, or products.

My vision of PSCA is one in which we will double our membership within the next five years, where we will champion financial wellness and other educational efforts, and where we will provide a framework for plan sponsors to have a constructive forum on their own future and the future of their plan participants. I will engage a new generation of Americans in a dialogue about retirement and generate thought leadership that will distinguish PSCA as the pre-eminent plan sponsor-focused organization in the world.

My vision can only succeed with the insight, ideas, and energy of PSCA members and plan sponsors who understand how important the defined contribution system is to the well being of all employees. Beginning with this blog, we welcome all of your comments; please send me your thoughts and opinions on where PSCA should focus our efforts. My e-mail is bob.benish@psca.org.

As PSCA enters this new chapter, rest assured that I dedicate myself to do whatever I can to ensure the continued success of PSCA.
