Missing Participants

At an event held by sister association the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) in late July, Assistant Secretary of Labor, U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (“EBSA”) Preston Rutledge said his department is focused on issuing plan sponsor guidance on missing participants. Guidance is expected in the coming months. That’s welcome news as PSCA and other groups have asked the administration for guidance for more than a year. Most recently, PSCA, along with the American Retirement Association, and groups representing other industry stakeholders, attended a meeting with EBSA leadership to discuss methods of moving forward to lessen the burden on plan sponsors.  PSCA will continue to offer solutions that will lessen complexities and uncertainty currently associated with missing participants
