The Impact of the DOMA Ruling on Defined Contribution and Healthcare Plans

On June 26, the Supreme Court announced its decision that the Defense of Marriage Act, signed into law in 1996, is unconstitutional. This means that same-sex marriages are recognized under federal law. 

On July 1, PSCA hosted a discussion about how the Supreme Court's decision will affect the treatment of same-sex spouses in defined contribution and healthcare plans.
