PSCA Presents Volunteer Service Awards at the 71st Annual National Conference

The Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA), a part of the American Retirement Association (ARA), today presented its second annual volunteer service awards, sponsored by Charles Schwab, at the lunch and raffle at its the 71st Annual National Conference. 

“Throughout the last year and more, these four individuals have contributed above and beyond to PSCA and its mission,” said Jack Towarnicky, Executive Director of PSCA. “While we appreciate each and every volunteers’ contributions, these four stood out for their continual dedication and commitment to serve.”

  • Tony Verheyen, Consultant, Educator and Writer – Tony was a board member when he volunteered his time as Executive Director for several months before committing to the full-time role for two years.  He remains on the board and volunteered to run the City Events for PSCA in 2017 after stepping down as Executive Director.  
  • Shirley Zabiegala, Director of Savings and Retirement for Nestle USA Inc. – Shirley is a longtime board member and valuable executive committee member and is always willing to step up to help when needed. 
  • Tom Gordon, chair of PSCA’s new HSA committee – Tom is another longtime board member who has volunteered on numerous committees over the years and stepped up last year to help launch the new HSA committee.  
  • Karin Rettger, President of Principal Resource Group Inc. – Karen is recognized for her work on the board, for volunteering her services as a financial advisor to PSCA, and all of her work as the Vice Chair of the new HSA committee. 

Last year marked the first-ever volunteer service awards. Winners included: Brandon Diersch, Ira Finn, Linda Garcia, Annette Grabow, Tim Kohn, Bob Love, Marjorie Mann, Steve McCaffrey, Bruce McNeil, Ted Moss, and Ken Raskin.
