A View from the Road: Charleston City Event Symposium

On May 7, PSCA led a City Event Symposium in Charleston, South Carolina. 

Representatives from 22 organizations and representatives of two U.S. Congressmen attended the event held at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Historic Downtown Charleston. 

Plan Sponsor attendees gained valuable insight from presenters, panelists and other attendees, as presenters and panelists addressed timely and relevant topics.

• Russ Sullivan, Partner with McGuireWoods Consulting, provided a legal and legislative update, and shared insight into what Washington, D.C. policymakers were likely to accomplish before the 2016 national elections. 
• Massi De Santis, Ph.D. with Dimensional Fund Advisors, provided an academic perspective of participant behavior in defined contribution retirement plans and prescribed steps employers should take to encourage increased savings
• A panel of subject matter experts from around the country answered attendee questions ranging from distributions and investments to millennial engagement and surviving audits. The panel featured: Chris Reagan, Regional Director at SageView Advisory Group; David Kot, Partner at BKD; Chris Costello, CEO at Blooom, Inc.; Isaac Buchen, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Maria Rasmussen, Partner at McGuireWoods LLP.
